HarborFrost Kickoff Party with a Taste of Sag Harbor
Sag Harbor Cinema

Friday night’s HarborFrost Celebration will be held on the third floor event space of the Sag Harbor Cinema. With food from 15 of the Sag Harbor area’s most popular restaurants, this opening night celebration will be a winter taste of Sag Harbor. Tickets are $50 for members of the Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce, and $60 for the general public. Tickets at tasteofsagharbor2025.eventbrite.com.

Frostbitten Frames and Other Special Treats
Sag Harbor Cinema

The Sag Harbor Cinema will continue their annual “Frostbitten Frames” with the 1923 silent classic “Where the North Begins,” featuring famous canine actor Rin Tin Tin playing on the vitrines throughout the day. Complimentary “Dreamy” hot cocoa samples will be served inside from 1 to 4 p.m. The third-floor Green Room Bar will open early at 2 p.m. with live music from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. by George Howard performing an eclectic mix of pop, rock, soul and dance hits spanning the decades from 50’s through today. Also serving hot chili and the best fireworks view from the rooftop.

Stop by the local library and have some fun with green screen photos, story time and tours of the newly renovated spaces.

StoryWalk Trail Hike
Mashashimuet Park and Long Pond Greenbelt

As part of the annual HarborFrost activities, join Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt for a fun walk for kids of all ages along the StoryWalk Trail in Sag Harbor (about 30 minutes). The more adventurous can continue on for another half hour to see Long Pond and learn about the amazing Long Pond Greenbelt. Meet at the bleachers at Mashashimuet Park on the corner of Main Street and Jermain Avenue in Sag Harbor. Leader: Dai Dayton, 631-745-0689.

Culinary Stroll
Starting at K Pasa

Sample some of Sag Harbor’s finest foods on this casual stroll through the village sponsored by the Sag Harbor Hysterical Society. The tour starts at K Pasa (2 Main Street) at 11:30 a.m. with stops along the way at Sen, Il Capuccino and Page Sag Harbor. $50, cash only, includes dining specialties at each stop. Cash bar. The tour ends with plenty of time for guests to make their way to Long Wharf for the fireworks. Prizes for the best decorated chef’s hat. Space is limited so contact Charlie Canavan at 631-379-2169 in advance.

Ice Carving by Ice Memories

Madison and Main – Behind the Civil War Monument
The Long-Island based ice carving company Ice Memories returns to HarborFrost to carve beautiful ice sculptures on the south end of Main Street and later in the day in Steinbeck Park. Master carver Richard Daly is a national award-winning ice carving artist and creates a unique and personal experience. With over 200 ice carving competition titles won, including five Gold Medals at the U.S. National Ice Carving Championships, Ice Melodies strives for perfection with every sculpture. In addition, look for smaller ice sculptures throughout the business district.

Ceremonial Cacao
Dragon Hemp Apothecary

Dragon Hemp Apothecary will welcome guests for a serving of the Ceremonial Cacao presented by Dragon Hemp ceremonial priestess, Gvantsa Chkhikvadze at noon. A cacao ceremony has been part of a tradition for various ancient cultures dating back thousands of years. A ceremonial cacao is very different from a traditional hot chocolate in that ceremonial grade cacao is a pure Criollo cacao-bean paste that contains a higher quantity of beneficial and mood-elevating compounds. Criollo cacao bean is a wild strain not bred for sweetness like most commercial chocolates and has higher concentrations of Theobromine, serotonin, tryptophan and many other health-restoring consciousness-altering compounds.

Dragon Hemp Apothecary

No stranger to bringing live music to Main Street Sag Harbor, Steve Skoldberg has been playing music on the East End for over 30 years. For many years, he was a regular at favorite watering holes in Sag Harbor and now he returns to Dragon Hemp at 108 Main Street. One of the local open mic organizers, Skoldberg joins and backs up aspiring musicians Monday nights at the Sag Harbor Cinema Green Room Bar.

Head on down to Kidd Squid for a tasting of melted cheese from Hamptons Raclette. The name, raclette, refers to both the dish and its main ingredient: cheese. Specifically, a semihard cheese with ideal melting and aromatic qualities so that, when heated, the cheese perfectly slips off the wheel. Perfect for a cold day in February.

HarborFrost welcomes back blues man Jake Lear to a new location at the OMO Apothecary right off Long Wharf. Lear was raised on the music of John Lee Hooker, Jimi Hendrix and Howling Wolf. Come hear his blues in an intimate and fun space.

Heaven, Hell and The Garden: Archetypes of the Creative Mind
The Church

Join artist Eric Fischl at The Church, 48 Madison Street, as he muses on three archetypes for emotional and aspirational conditions that all cultures ponder through art: Heaven, Hell and the Garden. Speaking specifically about the visual arts of Western art history, Fischl’s lecture will explore how shape, color, line, gesture, pattern and scale — the language an artist chooses to express feelings, thoughts and dreams — can be further explored within the dimension of these three classic motifs. Tickets are $5 for members of The Church, $10 for general admission.
